A Create & Make Workshop

Its spring and time to welcome back the faery folk!
On the Celtic Wheel of the Year, May 1 was the seasonal Festival of Beltane, the last of three spring fertility festivals. Celebrated approximately halfway between the Vernal (spring) equinox and the midsummer (Summer Solstice), Beltane traditionally marked the arrival of summer in ancient times.
Beltane, like Samhain (Halloween) is when the ‘veils between the worlds’ are at their thinnest and when spirits from our world and the Otherworld intermingle and unite … and then magic abounds! The months of May through June especially are when the Faeries return from their winter respite, carefree and full of mischief. When the veils are thin it is also said that the Queen of the Faeries (or the May Queen) rides out on her white horse. Legend has it that if you sit beneath a tree on a May evening, you may see the Faery Queen or hear the sound of Her horse’s bells.
In this magical workshop you will learn more about the ‘fey folk’ as you create your own special tribute to them in the form of garden art. Using environmentally friendly cloth we will paint a design or message on a ‘flag’ then decorate it with a variety of natural materials such as ribbon, wool and natural objects. Your finished piece can then be hung somewhere in your garden or home to ‘dance’ in the wind … an invitation to the faery folk to come play!
This is an easy workshop for all levels of ability. Your take-away will be a beautiful art piece that can be hung in your garden, solarium or wherever a breeze can catch it.

Booking an art experience is a commitment to yourself, the facilitator and other participants. The following policies are in place to ensure that all workshops and sessions run as scheduled and help guarantee that everyone involved has an enjoyable experience.
PAYMENT Payment is by cash, cheque made out to Dancing Moon Designs or credit card (VISA, Mastercard and AMEX accepted)
A DEPOSIT IS REQUIRED AT TIME OF BOOKING To confirm your registration you must pay a deposit or provide a credit card number at the time of booking. The balance or full cost will be due the day of the workshop.
CANCELLATION POLICY Last minute cancellations other than for extenuating circumstances spoils the fun for all involved … it creates challenges for the facilitator and disappointment for other registrants if a class has to be cancelled as a result.
THERE IS NO REFUND FOR CANCELLATIONS LESS THAN 72 HOURS PRIOR OR FOR NO-SHOWS ON THE DAY OF THE WORKSHOP
A raincheck may be offered depending on the circumstances of the cancellation. If a workshop has to be cancelled due to inclement weather or other extenuating circumstances participants will either be notified of the re-scheduled day/time or a full refund will be provided.
